왜 만들었나
작품 뒤의 마음
저는 망망대해를 무서워합니다. 익사가 아니라, 규모가 두렵습니다. 셀 수 없는 물방울들 중 하나라는 사실이 어지럽게 만들어요. 그 어지러움을 물 대신 한글로 마주하기 위해 이 작품을 만들었습니다. 글자들의 바다 안의 한 글자가 되는 일. 작아지면서도 길을 잃지 않는 일.

어떻게 생각했나
작품 뒤의 사고
물리학은 모든 것이 입자이면서 동시에 파동이라고 합니다. 한글도, 바다처럼 흩어지면 똑같이 행동합니다. 개별 글자는 점입니다. 모이면 패턴입니다. 모이면 날씨입니다. 이 작품은 둘 중 하나를 고르기를 거부합니다.
