왜 만들었나
작품 뒤의 마음
2년 동안, 제 뇌가 어떻게 작동하는지 이해해 보려 애썼습니다. 다 이해하지 못한 논문들을 읽었습니다. 제가 생각하는 것을 지켜봤습니다. 알아낸 건, 저는 하나의 자아가 아니라 투표하는 자아들의 네트워크라는 사실이었습니다. 이 작품은 그 투표의 자화상입니다.

어떻게 생각했나
작품 뒤의 사고
신경망은 저장이 아니라 관계로 작동합니다. 어떤 것도 혼자서는 의미가 없습니다. 합주(合奏)할 때만 의미가 생깁니다. 아이러니하게도, 한글은 이미 그렇게 설계되어 있었습니다. 각 글자는 음절, 단어, 문장 안에서만 결정됩니다. 이 작품의 격자는 그 숨은 투표를 보이게 합니다.

당신이 느끼길 바라는 것
안에서 자신이 갈라져 있다고 느낄 때 보세요. 작품은 알려 줄 겁니다. 분열은 실패가 아니라는 걸. 분열이야말로 지능을 가능하게 한다는 걸. 네트워크는 그 안에 외로운 것이 없기 때문에 생각합니다.
