왜 만들었나
작품 뒤의 마음
대구의 아파트 단지에서 자랐습니다. 똑같은 건물, 똑같은 일상. 어렸을 땐 그 격자가 싫었습니다. 어른이 되고서야 사랑하기 시작했어요. 격자야말로 제 이웃들을 가능하게 한 구조였습니다. 같은 모양, 무한한 내용. 저를 키운 격자를 기리고 싶었습니다.

어떻게 생각했나
작품 뒤의 사고
격자는 구속이 아니라 허락입니다. 좌표가 없으면 어떤 것도 다른 것을 찾을 수 없습니다. 이 작품은 한글을 도시의 셀로 다룹니다. 각 글자가 하나의 아파트, 하나의 인생이고, 모두가 기하학의 거리로 연결되어 있습니다.
